strike-paper-new-sopa Image via SOPASTRIKE: If you wanted to enjoy your FREEDOM of expression and protect your online SECURITY read the message, share it to everyone you know, get out from your comfort zone and join the worldwide online protest.

Many believed that SOPA and PIPA will threaten prosperity, online security, and freedom of expression. Since yesterday some of the blog sites/websites at wordpress were already blacked out to show their protest.

Wordpress.org, Wordpress.com, Mozilla Corporation, Facebook, Electronic Frontier Foundation,Yahoo!, eBay, American Express, Reddit, Google, Reporters Without Borders, Human Rights Watch, English Wikipedia including some Law professors Mark Lemley (Stanford University), David S. Levine (Elon University), and David G. Post (Temple University) opposed SOPA and PIPA.

Today, the said protest has already spread worldwide. Google campaign is calling you to sign the petition urging Congress to vote NO on PIPA and SOPA before it is too late. You can also visit American Censorship Site for details on how you can show your support and to join the worldwide protest – if you wanted to protect your online security and enjoy yourfreedom of expression. Now twitter is flooded with tweets of “Vote NO to SOPA and PIPA”. The protest will last until Jan 24, 2012 – the US Senate vote date. This is the largest protest ever in history!

How True Facebook is Powerful than Google

Facebook popularity. Active users of Facebook ...

Image via Wikipedia

In early 2010, the In Sites Consulting has released a study on the result of a market research about Facebook when at that time Facebook has only more than 400 million registered users. Their findings are as follows:

  • 50% of their active users or equivalents to (200 million+) log-on to Facebook in any given day
  • More than 35 million users update their status each day
  • More than 60 million status updates posted each day
  • More than 3 billion photos uploaded to the site each month
  • More than 5 billion pieces of content such as web links, news stories, blog posts, notes, photo albums, etc. shared each week
  • More than 3.5 million events created each month
  • More than 3 million active Pages on Facebook
  • More than 1.5 million local businesses have active Pages on Facebook
  • More than 20 million people become fans of Pages each day
  • And pages have created more than 5.3 billion fans

It includes also the average user figures such as:

  • Average user has 130 friends on the site
  • Average user sends 8 friend requests per month
  • Average user spends more than 55 minutes per day on Facebook
  • Average user clicks the Like button on 9 pieces of content each month
  • Average user writes 25 comments on Facebook content each month
  • Average user becomes a fan of 4 Pages each month
  • Average user is invited to 3 events per month
  • Average user is a member of 13 groups

I can say that the above findings of In Sites Consulting about Facebook were convincing because in the same year, on July 21, 2010 Facebook users have increased drastically to 500 million active users. According to Facebook history records its company figures from the time Facebook was launched on February 4, 2004, after 1,665 days Facebook users have reached to first 100 million users. The following records are as follows:

  • On August 26, 2008 after 1,665 days from the date Facebook was launched its users have reached to 100 million
  • After 225 days on April 8, 2009 Facebook users increased to 200 million
  • After 160 days on September 15, 2009 FB users increased to 300 million
  • After 143 days on February 5, 2010 FB users increased to 400 million
  • After 166 days on July 21, 2010 FB users increased to 500 million
  • After 168 days on January 5, 2011 FB users increased to 600 million
  • After 145 days on May 30, 2011 FB users increased to 700 million
  • And on September 22, 2011 FB users have increased to 800 million
  • And from September 23, 2011 to present FB users are still increasing every day

Now we can say that these are proof that Facebook has the potential to direct more online users than Google every single day. For that we should not ignore Facebook at all for our article sharing activities!

Will Google Will Keep Its Promise? Maybe, Maybe Not

English: Google Logo officially released on Ma...

Image via Wikipedia

Writers and other contributors of the websites are the individual content creators who worked together feeding contents for the sites. Now Google has started spotting, tracking and indexing acknowledgment of contents created by the individual content creators with the websites they appear on through listing the author’s link.

If Google stressed its plan both the websites and the individual content creators will enjoy the following benefits:

  • An individual content creator will be given a place for his contents separately in search results.
  • If the author’s page rank result is commendable, it can add potential points to the websites he is writing as well as to his authorship.
  • This plan will help highlight authors and rank search results and allows better ranking of good stuff.
  • Effective to spot people that plagiarized other works and those websites who published works with out the author’s permission.
  • And this plan will inspire and suggest authors to write articles with good quality contents for Google crawlers to come and bring more traffic and views.

So start now practicing using your username or pen name too as tag for your articles as it can also help trace sites that published your works without your permission and the people plagiarizing your articles across the Internet. If Google intensified its plan indexing individual content creators, mostly of the online writers and other contributors will be happy to be included.

How to Produce Article with Good Quality Contents

Giant Panda

Aside from bamboo, I learned that Google Panda occasionally eat other grasses, wild tubers, or even meat in the form of birds, rodents or carrion, honey, eggs, fish, yams, shrub leaves, oranges, or bananas along with specially prepared feed.

I recognized him with his black and white cat-foot. I saw its large, distinctive black patches around the eyes, over the ears and across its round body. I thought if he saw me he would become wild but I was wrong. When he saw me he smiled at me and invited me to sit down beside him. What a beautiful morning it was! Google Panda was in good mood to talk to a stranger.

So I did not waste my time. I started our conversation with laughter and normal greetings. And then my short interview for him followed. For all the questions I stoned to him, he answered them directly to the point without any hesitations. He was smart, friendly and it made me comfortable. And for the record, the below is the recorded interview I made with Google Panda.

Pruelpo: For what purpose Google has recruited you early this year?

Google Panda: The purpose is mainly to give better search results. The change aims to lower the rank of “low quality content sites” in search results and return high-quality sites to its users.

Pruelpo: Did it show good results? What websites mostly were affected?

Google Panda: Yes. It has affected the rankings of all search results. News websites and Social Networking sites benefited for this changes – their rankings rise but a drop in rankings for Advertising sites.

Pruelpo: You mentioned earlier about low quality content sites – What advice you can suggest to the owners or to the publishers of those sites?

Google Panda: To get high ranking pages on search results those publishers should aspire to conceive those low quality contents to high quality contents for their sites. If those publishers are hosting individual content writers – they should encourage them to produce articles with high and good quality contents. Now Google has started spotting, tracking and indexing acknowledgment of contents created by the individual content creators with the websites they appear on through listing the author’s link.

Pruelpo: What advice you can suggest to the individual content creators to produce articles with good quality contents?

Google Panda: For the benefits of all writers, first of all, they should realize that online writing is different from writing on print media like newspapers and magazines. If writers wrote articles for online publication with good quality contents the Search Engine crawlers will always love to crawl down those articles and will keep them coming back a year round because they found them as quality provider of good contents.

Pruelpo: I see your points though still I need more clarifications. Could you please elaborate them?

Google Panda: Writers should avoid publishing anything that is not quality or original content. They should avoid mixing some lower quality stuff with that high quality stuff just to get number of articles to publish. Injecting non-unique contents on their articles could not attract Search Engine crawlers. They need a lot of good quality contents and need to post them frequently. Frequency is also important part of the process because it helps train crawlers to come to find the food to bite. Search Engines will be happy to see that writers are consistently feeding good quality contents for the crawlers.

Pruelpo: They sound good and very effective. Are there some more helpful tips that you can advice to writers other than those you mentioned a while ago?

Google Panda: Writers should write naturally with good English grammar. And they should avoid not to keyword stuff of their contents. If they write articles of 500, 1000 and above words long – they should pick a main keyword and put it in the title of the post. They should select a bunch of sub-phrase keywords that relate the primary keyword and use them on sub-headings and fill them in about 100 to 200 per sub-section. Or for every 100 words they write they should use the keyword only once. For a five hundred word article they would use keyword at least five times. However, they can also mix two or three other keywords into the article with the primary keyword. They can also use the primary keyword once in the closing paragraph of the article. And also they can create links in the content to other pages.

The interview with Google Panda was interesting, memorable and exciting one. Now I realize that it is not yet too late for us writers to write good quality content articles. Following Google Panda’s advice we can improve our writing capabilities. Let’s do it!

Article About Numbers Will Attract Heavy Traffics Too

Google X, alternate interface to Google search

Image via Wikipedia

Published on Webupon, Mar 16, 2011 Category – Search Engines

My article about numbers attract heavy traffics and still counting from the date it was published on March 6, 2011 and the tags I used here are just the common tags like - Alphabets, Life, Mathematics, Numerology, Paranormal, Society, Spirituality and Triond.

Out of 94 articles (excluding this one if approved) that are already published on the websites powered by Triond – this one has stood out. So far this article has generated total views of about 1,036 alone that started on the date of publication and still receiving views. Also it accumulated the highest earning points of 56$ cents compared to my other articles. This is something I could be proud of.

From this article, I learned many things like:

  • It is not necessarily to go out often from Triond just to look for ideas to write.
  • Great ideas can be found inside Triond alone.
  • Our own articles and our friends’ articles can suggest other great ideas too.
  • Our own dashboards, contents section including our profile pages are also sources of ideas to write.
  • Our friends’ list section can suggest many ideas to write too.

In addition, I also learned that it is not advisable to write a long article that ranges from 1,500 words and above in one article – instead, it is better to write it by parts or by series – as mostly of Internet surfers don’t spend a long time on reading for a long article. Mostly of them would only stay for at least 5 minutes on reading.

Choosing the best tags for our articles will help boost traffics. Now I enjoy googling first the tags on search engines like – let me Google that for you, Google, Bing, Yahoo and other search engines before applying them to my article.

The tags I used for my article about numbers have helped much to attract views. When I googled them I found the following:

  • AlphabetsGoogle search gave 7,390,000 results.
  • Life – Google search gave 4,730,000,000 results.
  • Mathematics – Google search gave 206,000,000 results.
  • Numerology – Google search gave 6,140,000 results.
  • Paranormal – Google search gave 69,600,000 results.
  • Society – Google search gave 567,000,000 results.
  • Spirituality – Google search gave 61,200,000 results.
  • Triond.com – Google search gave 2,850,000 results.

Also I learned that I should not just leave my article to SEO crawlers. The power of sharing to social networks, blog sites, egroups and forum groups, friends and to my email contacts is also helpful to attract traffics.

Published on Webupon, Feb 16, 2011 Category – Search Engines

For Net surfers, bloggers, authors and other writers, "Let me google that for you" is a great help for anything that we want to search in the Internet.

This is awesome. Imagine if you are a blogger and presently writing an awesome article to be submitted to Triond and other paying sites, this search engine can help you check out if the title you used on your article has already used by other bloggers and writers and at the same time you can also check out and compare if the contents of your article are the same with those articles provided to you by “Let me Google that for you“.

The advantages about this tool – all what you want: information, photos, people references and many more are automatically be provided to you in few seconds. And it can prevent bloggers and writers to receive declined or rejected articles notices as well.

Imagine that – at least before you submit your article to Triond and other sites you are contributing, first you can revise it after you spotted some parts of the contents of your article that are found on those links provided to you by the site that are already used by other bloggers and writers.

This morning I tried – Let me Google that for you. I asked my name Paul Pruel on the site. The site has created a link for my name . And then by using the cursor, I pressed go found under the link of my name. And then Let me Google that for you retyped my question and in 0.17 seconds it provided the results of 18, 400 about Paul Pruel.

Let me Google that for you – is a powerful tool to help anyone to search for anything in the Internet and this is really awesome!
