The Smoke of Controversy

Smoke

This is another brain teaser. A healthy puzzle that needs answer. This is written in first person view point. My purpose is to inject the pains in you – to let you realize how painful is it when we hurt others. Just imagine if my subject can speak directly to you – he/she will kneel before you pleading for his/her life. Analyze the piece, the answer is in two words! Another challenge – a food for thought!

Yes. I cannot hide from you. I know that you know all about me.

I am a seasoned star
Had been the smoke
Of controversy for many years
Cherished by million of my fans around the world
I am so gorgeous with my apparel
Of a white gown that covered
My soft-slender-beautiful body…

One day, my sweet scent wraith
through the place, like a haunting
And my fans grabbed me
Tightly held my neck
they kissed my lips and cheeks
leaving them with luminous spits…

I had complaint, wanting to stop them
though they just ignored my wish
for them I am their asset…

I was yelling for help but nobody came
and in great pains, I cried
then I fell down unconscious…

The hour altered, dusk became dawn
I woke up and screamed so hard
Seeing myself lying in the pool of mud
With those filthy and ugly faces
My own effigy, those sizzling ———!?(Your answer please…)

Haiku: The Easiest Form of Poetry

Masaoka Shiki,

Image via Wikipedia

Anyone can master this type of poetry. It is written in three phrases with 5, seven and five syllables or equivalent of 17 syllables only. Others write it with 3, five and three syllables, then a poem is created!

Haiku was previously called Hokku. At the end of the 19th century Masaoka Shiki, who was a Japanese writer was the one who gave its name to Haiku. The main difference of Japanese Haiku with the English Haiku is the subject.

In Japanese traditional Haiku takes aspects of the natural world as their subject matter, while the English Haiku deals with any subject matter. Japanese Haiku is written in three phrases of 5, 7 and 5 syllables.

(Haiku 1) Nature’s elements:

Animals, trees and mountains

Man, the highest form.

(Haiku 2) Ample oil spills

Pollute the sea and ocean

Death of birds and fish.

(Haiku 3) Illegal logging

Impels a mountain to plunge

And submerge vast land.

(Haiku 4) Filthy air we breathe

Destroys the environment

Too bad for our health.

(Haiku 5) Toxic chemicals:

Carbon, Methane and Ozone

Cause Global Warming.

Haiku is another type of poetry. Anyone can write it. Haiku poetry has no title. It depends on the theme or subject of the poem used by the author.

Foundation of My Faith

The Last Supper of Jesus Christ

Image via Wikipedia

I am a Christian, Roman Catholic. I grew up through its guidance though sometimes I asked, "Was He the same God whom I used to kneel to pray, made out of blocks, wood, stone and clay?"

I was born as thousand are
Where God was never known
Taught to pray a useless prayer
To blocks, woods and stones.

I confess, I am blind
Could not see the truth
I am living with lies and illusions!

But today a peculiar thing happened
I fainted and I started longing
for the greatness of redeeming love
the love of Christ to me!

So, I started my journey to seek the truth
I stroke my fingers on the keyboard
My computer opened the door for me
I paused, asked myself, should I proceed?
Or I’d go back and forget it?

But my curiosity inspired me to go on
I opened the door, got inside, looked here
and there. I kept walking ‘til I reached the place
Where the Holy Writ was resting.

Happiness filled my heart
the treasure was shining brightly
I shouted with joy. My hale
and hearty arms held it up
I kissed it with compassion and love
Then I commenced scanning its Holy pages
And I found these enlightening verses:

Take heed what you read and what you hear
With what measure you mete
It shall be measured to you
And unto you that hear shall more be given
Then go on to know more and more
Of what that treasure is
And glorify your God, without end.

Was He the same God whom I used to kneel to pray?
Who was made out of blocks, wood, stone and clay?
Verily I wondered but my doubt did not alter my desire
Still I read the following text:

God created man and female
In His image and likeness, He created them
For His love and for the purpose to live with Him
And that we must give our highest admiration
And submit to Him, as our only God in return.

Consoled, I said this is it I am looking for
The true God I had long desired
God’s love to His children is lasting
God is a reasonable One
And understanding one in nature
He sent Jesus Christ, His begotten Son
His Son’s Sprinkling Blood save the world
And washed out His children’s sins.

He is the living word
The living water and the living bread
To feed our hungers, thirsts and longings
Jesus is the living light and life of the world
Who could calm us in the hour of buoyant health
In our hour of pain
In our poverty or wealth
In our loss or gain
Who could soothe us with holy hymn and psalm
And bid our spirits rest
That Jesus died for us
That on the cross He shed His blood
From sin to set us free.

Now, I know, it is not yet too late for me
to seek His Holy name and live with Him
with true guidance and pure doctrines
Through Jesus Christ and His teachings.

Happy indeed I found Him the cleansing fountain
where I can always flee
His blood most precious
the sinners’ perfect plea.

Human Weakness

Falling Down

Image via Wikipedia

Published on Socyberty, Feb 7, 2011 Category – Issues

When my father was still alive, he often told me these things: When you fall down, don’t look at the place where you fell but look back and find the cause of your fall.

Nguni’t pinanghinaan at pinabayaang magapi’t malupig…

Hahayaan ba nating madaig nitong salot

Harapin natin itong walang pag-aalinlangan
Tanggalin ang takot sa puso’t isipan
Mga kapaitan sa buhay ay tiyak malalampasan!

Love is One of The Ten Virtues That Will Heal Our Hearts, Homes and Nations

Love Love Love

Published on AuthSpot, Jan 20, 2011 Category - Thoughts

Love is a virtue representing all of human kindness, compassion, and affection. It is the basis for all being. It can be described as actions towards others or to oneself based on compassion. Or actions towards others based on affection. It refers to a variety of different feelings, states, and attitudes, ranging from generic pleasure to intense interpersonal attraction.

Love is the lodestar of Life…

It is the heart of life, the force that erases
the differences between people
it bridges the splits of bitterness
the pot of gold at the beginning
and at the end of the rainbow…

It springs the beauty that bends
across the sky on a stormy days
the security for which children weep
the yearning of youth
the adhesive that binds marriage…

the lubricant that prevents
devastating friction in the home
the safeguard of community life
the beam of hope in a world of distress…
It is a gift of God, the most enduring
most powerful virtue: LOVE!

Taglay mo’y buhay at dakilang pag-asa

Ika’y makapangyarihan at walang katulad: O Pag-ibig!

Katulad Tayo Ng Tuyong Dahon

Fallen autumn leaves with Orton effect

Published on AuthSpot, Jan 17, 2011 Category – Thoughts

Life is too short and it is painful though we have no choice but to live with it and enjoy it before retirement comes.

Sila’y magbibigay ligaya’t liwanag
At karagdagang kaalaman sa buhay…

Nguni’t pagkatapos silang pakinabangan
Sila’y wawalisin at papalitan sa isipan
Upang bigyan ng daan ang sususnod
Na bagong ipupunlang kaalaman…

Katulad ng mga dahon na malago
Sa mga sanga ng isang punong kahoy
Kapag sila’y natuyo na-kusa silang
Babagsak sa lupa’t doon mananahan…

(English Translations)

Leaves are like ideas in the mind
They come when needed
They flourish and give life
Light and great wisdom…

When ideas have served their purpose
They need to be swept away
We must constantly sweep out the old
And give way for the new one…

Man breathes for life
As he reaches
His old age
It will cease…

And will fall apart
Like a dry leaf

Why You Loved Me

Art cover for John Donne's divine poems

Image via Wikipedia

Posted on Oct 27, 2010 Category – Poetry

The most abused question that everyone loves to ask. Writing poetry helps change my mood especially when I am depressed, weary, secluded and dispirited, I do write poems.

Is it because I act naturally
Without pretension?

Or because I am so quiet
I don’t talk too much?

Or because I am cool all the time
I don’t panic no matter
How complicated is the situation?

Or is it because I am a sensitive type
Of a person – I do cry
When I am in deep emotions
Aloof sitting alone in the corner
With my tears?

Or you liked me ‘cause
I am a man of actions?

Or maybe because I am sincere
I seldom say, I’m sorry
But when I say it
It is said with sincerity
And it touches your heart?

Or you loved me because
I am a loving person
Through text messages and calls
I say, I love you?

Or because of my being romantic
To you, through gestures
I show my love, care and affections
I hold your hands, hug you
And kiss your lips?

Or is it because I am always
Here for you, all sunny and rainy days
Guarding you, protecting you
From any harm and keeping
You safe into my arms?

Whatever reasons you have
In mind, I am sure
You loved me because
I am the man you dreamed!
