When you drink coffee some of the electrolytes, minerals and vitamins reserved in your body will be flushed together with the urine. And decrease the strength of your body immune system or your body doctor to fight diseases.

If you’re addicted coffee drinker and you consumed at least 10 glasses everyday – your body absorbed also 1,350 mg of caffeine. Caffeine is classified chemically as a drug. Some scientific studies found that the total caffeine contents in a glass of coffee are 135 mg.

Associated with those findings there are some good effects from drinking coffee such as: It brings back the good mood condition of a person. It helps protect your body and fights against diabetes. It helps relax your brain from overworks. It helps a person to stay awake for a longer time. It has anti-oxidants.

Although, there are also bad effects like: You become an addict coffee drinker because of the drug present on coffee. It destroys your sleep scheduled time. It helps increase the cholesterol of your body. It causes headache or severe migraine.

Coffee is not advisable with some conditions like: Pregnant women and women who are on their breast feedings. People with heart failures. People with high blood pressures. People with high cholesterol. People with kidney stone, stroke or blood clots. People with insomnia. And people who are allergic with coffee.

If a person is already addicted to drink coffee – some experts advice the following:

After drinking the coffee – he must follow up it by drinking more water. If he can afford – he should take some vitamins and minerals supplements as they can help replace those electrolytes, minerals and vitamins that were taken out from the body because of diuretic effects of coffee. It was also found that to drink coffee after meal has bad effects to your body blood sugar level.

The Seven Words for a Lung Disease

Volcanic material thrust high into the atmosph...

Image via Wikipedia

If you combined osis, coni, volcano, silico, microscopic, ultra and pneumono into a single word - the result is a name of a lung disease. And from doing it you can also improve the rate of your reading skills after you mastered the seven words.

I was surfing the net when I spotted the word Pneumonoultramicroscopicsilicovolcanoconiosis accidentally. So I have to look it from dictionaries and encyclopedias available online for its meaning – and the word is defined as a lung disease caused by the inhalation of very fine silica dust, mostly found in volcanos. It was originally coined simply to serve as the longest English word but has been used in several sources as an approximation of its originally intended definition. The name generally used to describe this condition is pneumoconiosis, which is much shorter.

The word Pneumonoultramicroscopicsilicovolcanoconiosis was originated from the seven words that has its own meaning such as:

  • pneumono which is related to lungs (Latin, from Greek)
  • ultra which is beyond (Latin, as in “ultraviolet”)
  • microscopic which is extremely small (Latin/Old English, from Greek mikron, small, and skopos, view)
  • silico which is silica (Latin)
  • volcano which also volcano (Latin)
  • coni which related to dust (Greek: konis, dust) and
  • osis (Greek) which is disease or condition

The plural of this word is equally long – pneumonoultramicroscopicsilicovolcanoconioses. This 45-letter word, referred to by logologists as, first appeared in the Oxford English Dictionary in 1936, and has also since appeared in the Webster’s Third New International Dictionary, the Random House Dictionary of the English Language, Unabridged, and Merriam-Webster’s Collegiate Dictionary and Medical Dictionary.

But critics of its designation as the longest word complained that it is a technical term and not worthy of consideration as the longest word in general usage. It was said also that the word was originally intended as a hoax. Researchers discovered that the word was invented in 1935 by Everett M. Smith, president of the National Puzzlers’ League, at their annual meeting.

The word occurred in a newspaper headline about the meeting, after which it was picked up by an author of puzzle books. Members of the National Puzzlers’ League then campaigned to have it included in major dictionaries, eventually succeeding with the Oxford English Dictionary and Webster’s Third New International Dictionary.

So are you ready to rate your reading speed through this word? The technique is simple – first try to master the seven words and combine them into a single word and then say it from slow to faster pace.

What to Do When There is Heart Arrest in Your Household

Blood circulation: Red = oxygenated Blue = deo...

Heart arrest which is also known as circulatory arrest is different from heart attack. It is the cessation of normal circulation of the blood due to failure of the heart to contract effectively. While Heart attack is the interruption of blood supply to a part of the heart, causing heart cells to die. Heart arrest is already common nowadays even young children have already experiencing this illness.

Arrested blood circulation prevents delivery of oxygen to the body. Lack of oxygen to the brain causes loss of consciousness, which then results in abnormal or absent breathing. If heart arrest goes untreated for more than five minutes, it will result brain injury and may lead to death.

If there is heart arrest in your household – avoid panicking. Calm down and relax. The first thing what you would do is (1) Call or summon a medical person/officer as soon as possible in every case, (2) Feel pulse of the person, listen for heartbeat with ear against chest, (3) If no heartbeat is heard, start Heart-Lung Resuscitation.

Under Heart-Lung Resuscitation – here you are providing the first aid to the person while waiting for the rescuer or the medical team. You would do the following to the person with heart arrest:

  1. Place the person on his back on a firm surface. Extend his head backwards so his chin points straight upwards.
  2. Place the heel of one hand in the center of the chest over the lower one-half of the breastbone and place the heel of the other hand on top of it. The fingers must be lifted so they do not touch the ribs. Pressure on ribs may break them.
  3. Rock forward and use the weight of your body to press the breastbone vertically downward 1 to 2 inches. This compresses the heart between breastbone and backbone and propels blood out of the heart into the lungs and body.
  4. Release the pressure for just as long as you pressed. The chest will expand and the heart will fill with blood. Repeat this pressure once every second.
  5. Other household member should give Rescue Breathing – by blowing a breath in once between each 5 to 8 compressions of the heart with the least possible pause in heart compressions.
  6. If there is another household member present, he should help also inflating the lungs with two or three quick breaths after 10 to 15 heart compressions.

If you are alone rescuing the person – just relax, give the best help you can give to him until the medical team arrive following the first six aid mentioned above or bring him to the nearest hospital.

Prostate cancer is a form of cancer that develops in the prostate, a gland in the male reproductive system. The signs and symptoms of prostate cancer are classified as trouble urinating, decreased force in the stream of urine, blood in your urine, blood in your semen, swelling in your legs, discomfort in the pelvic area and bone pain.

Aside from scientific treatments and medications for prostate cancer found on these links: mayoclinic.com, drugexpert.com and alternative.com – some doctors and other experts have advice those who have prostate cancer to adapt a way that would help cut prostate cancer risk naturally.

Anthony Smith, the deputy director of the Australian Research Centre in Sex, Health and Society at La Trobe University in Melbourne, was quoted saying, “The research could affect the kind of lifestyle advice doctors give to patients. Masturbation is part of people’s sexual repertoire. If these findings hold up, then it’s perfectly reasonable that men should be encouraged to masturbate.“

Some scientific studies found that masturbation can lower risk of prostate cancer. It relieves sexual tension. There are no harmful side effects. It will not stunt your growth. Your testicles will not decrease in size. You will not become sterile. You will be better at sex as result and it feels really good. Clears your sinuses and keeps the plumbing flowing and it makes you happy. But the danger being - you may fall in love with yourself!
