Social Security System Philippine Style

With the implementation of the SS Law, the Philippine government also adopted the social insurance approach to social security, covering the employed segment of the labor force in the private sector.
Courtesy of SSS Philippines
In 1993, household helpers earning at least 1,000ph a month were included in the compulsory coverage of employees. In 1980, some groups of self-employed persons were also required to contribute to the social security fund from which benefits are paid upon the occurrence of a contingency provided by the law. Self-employed farmers and fisher-folks were included in the program in 1992 while workers in the informal sector earning at least 1,000ph a month, such as ambulant vendors and watch-your-car-boys were covered in 1995.
The Social Security System (SSS) administers social security protection to workers in the private sector. On the other hand, the Government Service Insurance System (GSIS) takes care of workers in the public sector. The SSS administers two programs, namely:
  • The Social Security Program
  • The Employee’s Compensation (EC) Program
Social security provides replacement income for workers in times of death, disability, sickness, maternity and old-age. On May 1, 1997, former President Fidel V. Ramos signed Republic Act 8282, further strengthening the SSS. Also known as the Social Security Act of 1997, it amended RA 1161, providing for better benefit packages, expansion of coverage, flexibility in investments, stiffer penalties for violators of the law, con-donation of penalties of delinquent employers and the establishment of a voluntary provident fund for members.
The employee’s compensation program, started in 1975, provides double compensation to the worker when the illness, death or accident occur during work-related activities. EC benefits are granted only to members with employers other than themselves.
Social Security System used to administer the Medicare program for hospitalization and other medical needs of the private sector workers; and the Government Service Insurance System (GSIS), for the public sectors workers. However, with the passage of RA 7875 or the National Health Insurance Act of 1995, SSS and GSIS transferred the administration of the Medicare program to the Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth) for an integrated and comprehensive approach to health development.

What I Learned From Blog and Blogging

From my blogging – I learned how to show respect and love to my host country: Saudi Arabia. I learned how to differentiate job and business and other opportunities. I learned that writing is a medium to tell the world what I know and what I love. I learned how to care my personal health and how to manage them.
From the time I started sharing my blog articles, there were about 17 articles I had written about Saudi Arabia that includes my personal experiences in the Kingdom. I learned that immigrants will live with peace in mind and without fear through appreciation and understandings with their cultures and abiding the laws regulated in the Kingdom are the most important things to consider aside from its beautiful history.
To write them was really a big challenge. I had interviewed some Saudis and other immigrants for information. I had used encyclopedias for more information about the country, its people, its culture, tradition and about the law regulated in the Kingdom. So far, I had written 9 articles about business and other business opportunities.
From those articles I learned that job is only temporary. When an employee became incapacitated, he loses his job. His job cannot be transferred to his loved ones. There’s no financial freedom in job. He has no freedom to enjoy and has a very limited growth. I even said that there is nothing wrong to learn other things – even though a person is on his job when he can use it someday or after he retired from his job.

Wikinut: Awesome Publishing Site For Articles: Household Helpers and Servants are Favorite for Ma...

Domestic servants in the Kingdom are the favorite for mal-treatments and abuse by their employers. Some of them are forced to work hard straight the whole day without food and sleep. Some of them are unpaid. Not all migrant workers coming to Saudi Arabia are protected by Saudi Labor Law – especially the domestic servants. If you were one of those applying for this position – this article will help you decide because mostly of the abused workers in the Kingdom belong to this group of workers.

Synonyms and Antonyms for Various Aspects of Personality

To create vivid verbal pictures, you must select words that denote or suggest your exact meaning. But you cannot develop accurate word portraits without a supply of words denoting both the positive and negative aspects of personality. Both require the selection of proper tints or shades.
There are several groups of words that provide a wide range of synonyms and antonyms for various aspects of personality such as:
Stimulating - the person who arouses or excites the minds of others is stimulating or provocative. If uplifting thoughts and ambitions are aroused, the person is inspiring. If vivid interest and feeling are displayed, you may call the individual enthusiastic, ardent, eager, animated, lively, sparkling or vivacious. The person who presents new ideas or old ones in a new way, is original or refreshing. The opposite of a person who is stimulating is one who is boring, uninteresting, tedious, tiresome, or wearisome. He may be apathetic or phlegmatic; stolid, unresponsive or impassive; inane or silly.
Good tempered - the terms used most often to described a good-tempered person are good-humored, even-tempered, pleasant and amicable. The person is amiable who has sweetness of temper – is kindhearted, friendly, cooperative and in other ways attracts liking and affection. The bland person is soothing and mild, neither irritating nor stimulating. The benignindividual is gracious, gentle and kindly. The even-tempered person is calm, tranquil or serene. The opposite of a person who is good tempered is one who is cross, incompatible, surly, churlish, warpish, fiery, crotchety, irascible, testy or touchy, irritable, disgruntled, querulous, petulant or peevish.
Tolerant - the tolerant person recognizes the right of others to have opinions and practices different from his or her own, and so is understanding. This individual is lenient and merciful. He or she is democratic and so practices social equality. he or she is unprejudiced or unbiased. The tolerant person also is forbearing and is patient even though there is reason to be angered. The opposite of a person who is tolerant is narrow-minded person who is unwilling to tolerate opinions, customs or actions that do not conform to his or her own ideas or practices. One who points out flaws, usually in an unpleasant manner, may be described as critical, faultfinding or censorious.
Flexible - if you were to work and live harmoniously with others, you must modify your ideas and behaviour in accordance with changed conditions, new information and individualpersonalities, without compromising your own principles. The person who possesses and uses this ability is flexible, adaptable, tolerant or open-minded. The person who is amenable is willing to yield or submit. But if complaint, he or she has the disposition to accept meekly without question. Plastic, pliable, pliant and malleable all mean susceptible to influence or modification by outside pressure. The cooperative individual works with others toward a common goal. The opposite of this person is obstinate, stubborn, mulish, dogged, pertinacious, inflexible, immovable, obdurate, implacable, adamant and inexorable or uncompromising, rigid, unyielding and intransigent person.
Objective - objectivity is largely dependent upon one’s temperament and ability to make judgments without prejudice or emotion. The impersonal or detached person is free from personal concern; he or she is calm and objective in judgments. One who is willing and able to make decisions or choices that are practical, sensible, just and fair is reasonable. The fair person does not permit his or her own feelings, prejudices or interests to sway judgment. This person is just, applying his or her standard of what is right to every situation. The opposite of this person is self-centered who finds it difficult to be impersonal judgment and is apt to be biased by personal emotions and desires.

At this moment I am preparing and reconditioning myself for my vacation which is due on May 1, 2012. So this is the reason why I digested facts from my previous articles and put together into one article as my overall status – this is also another way to promote my pages at Wikinut publishing site across the Internet.

From July 28, 2010 to March 31, 2012, there are about 234 articles I published already at Wikinut. Those articles were written in between working hours in Saudi Arabia during the normal working days from Saturday and Thursday. Twenty articles I published in January 2012

During the month of January 2012, my target articles to write were actually 31 but I failed. Of course, I am still happy because these twenty articles are still attracting crawlers for traffic and views – they are:

In addition to it, I also included my latest published articles for April 2012 as follows:

The Funny Side of Easter Eggs Hunting is History

Easter eggs Deutsch: Osterreier im gepflochten...

Easter eggs Deutsch: Osterreier im gepflochtenen Osterkorb mit Osterglocke (Photo credit: Wikipedia)

As part of celebration, I also had joined with the thousands of net surfers around the world for Easter eggs hunting. Using my desktop computer, I had visited many websites hoping to find for some Easter eggs but I could not find even one so I decided to stop. Yes. I was about to leave when I spotted a dusty place where a lonely Easter egg was hiding.

I shouted, “At last I found one!” But what surprised me, when I broke its hard outer covering inside the Easter egg; I found two old published articles written by two Triond writers. And in my thought, maybe this will answer to some questions asked by some of Triond users like “What was the first article written by the first Triond member/contributor? Or who was the first Triond contributor who first published his/her article at the site powered by Triond?”

After my thorough investigation, I found the following interesting information such as:

  • After the official launching of Triond that took place on March 14, 2006, was followed by registration or signing up of some writers who happened to be the first official contributors for the sites powered by Triond.
  • Based on the date of publication of the article entitled “Traveling in The USA” the named “Clearwater” was the first Triond writer who wrote the first article and published it at “Trifter” on May 31, 2006 at 12:00AM. The author was a Esraeli national. He also had written two additional articles entitled: Mardi Grass 2000 published on July 8, 2006 and The Last Train Station published on April 20, 2009.
  • The second Triond writer who wrote the article entitled “How to spot an acting scam” was Brock Richardson. His article was published at Quazen on June 28, 2006. That was his first and last published article.

These findings were confirmed by Mr. Udi Oz – one of the founding officers of Triond and Mr. Alistair Briggs whom I considered as one of the most dedicated Triond writers – that Clearwater and Brock Richardson and their articles are already part of Triond history! Thanks to Easter Egg Hunting…

Which is the best publishing site? Is it Wikinut, ExpertsColumn or Triond

black belt_wikinut badges

Wikinut, Triond and ExpertsColumn are all admirable publishing sites. It is really hard to distinguish the differences about them. And maybe most online writers would ask - How the three publishing sites differ from one another? What method should be used to spot their differences?

Here I applied some keywords and tags. They are representing the same 23 articles or columns that I have published at Triond, Wikinut and ExpertsColumn. And through them I aptly had determined how effectively those publishing sites supported their writers in the manner of attracting views and promoting their writers’ stuff across the net like:

As I said earlier, those keywords and tags are representing the same 23 articles published on those sites and they helped me determined the differences between the three publishing sites in term of views respectively. As of this writing from March 1, 2012 my Triond pages garnered a total of 525 views so far. My Wikinut pages received a total of 15,103 views. While my ExpertsColumn pages received a total of 1,402 views. Of course, I used the same method on sharing those 23 articles published at Triond, Wikinut and ExpertsColumn across the net. But Triond has the least recorded views among them.

Earlier this month I received payment from Triond for February amounting to 66 dollars cents. At Wikinut I also received payment from December 8 to March 7, 2012 (3 mos) amounting to 3.02 Sterling pounds. And from ExpertsColumn I received payment from June 1, 2011 to March 18, 2012 on March 20, 2012 amounting to 5 dollars.

Summing up the total views from those sites from the date I began writing with them – my ExpertsColumn pages received a total of 2,101 views from June 1, 2011 to March 20, 2012. My Triond pages received a total of 30,931 views so far from August 17, 2010 to March 20, 2012. While my Wikinut pages received a total of 230,785 views from July 28, 2010 to March 20, 2012.

Despite diverse feedbacks we read about those sites, still, they are all standing robustly as strong bridges for our ideas and our inspiring thoughts to pass by for the thousands or for the million net users across the Internet. They are serving as virtual worlds where to share of our alluring dreams and our exciting emotions. And sometimes the focal points of friendships among writers.

If Children Ruled The World There Will Be No Heinous Crimes

The world would not become a den of several criminal crimes such as war, graft and corruption, terrorism, rebellion, cheating, drug addiction, rape, smuggling, kidnapping, sex slavery and prostitution, child abuse, spousal abuse and other heinous crimes.

There will be no impeachment trials of presidents, chief justices of supreme court like what is happening now in the Philippines. There will be no martial law to be imposed to a certain country as there will be no rebellion acts against any governments. There will be no demonstrations and rallies to check the wrong doings of government officials.

Thanks to CharliePrinceNYC for this video uploaded on Feb 29, 2012

However, we should know also that kids can be much crueler than adults. The world would be like a big trash pile because children don’t put anything away. The world would become messier and full of lost things. And the rate of development would be slower because children want something just for fun and are apt to ignore something related to world development.

The world would experience more humorous trial and error because children don’t think as carefully as adults do. Children might ignore adults also because adults don’t have power. Adults would feel lonely and some of them might try to commit suicide due to their situation.

And the world would be a disaster unless an adult were behind every child. If the children were in the congress and senate they would talk just about funny things and they would play all the time.

If they were bank directors they would spend all the money on games, candies or parties. Adults would have to work not to receive money but toys, candies and chocolate. Most school classes would disappear. The world would become rough and wild. And no one would like to be adults and parents would feel very sad!
What an awful image of the world!

Continue Reading: But what if the time comes that the world is ruled by children? Who will oppose it to happen?
